The 4x4 Club is affiliated to the Zimbabwe Motor Sports Federation - ZMSF. Our Club is a member of the Mashonaland Motor Sport Association Club House, situated at: 2 Annan Rd. Eastlea. The Club was originally formed as The Landrover and Off-Road Enthusiasts' Club in 1993. Since its inception the Club has grown and embraced all marques of 4 wheel drive vehicles.    At the AGM held in March 2001, the name of the club was changed to 'The 4 x 4 Club' to reflect the ever-widening scope of the membership and its' activities.   Affiliated to the Zimbabwe Motor Sports Federation, this family-oriented club organizes off-road and four-wheel drive activities. Events are planned to be non-vehicle damaging and socially competitive. Members vehicles include a wide variety of four wheel drives from a collection of original early Series I Landrover to the latest and most modern of Japanese luxury off road machinery. The club also assists those brave enough to rescue and restore old vehicles.   Monthly club events include novice training days to teach the newly converted the correct use of their vehicles and equipment, hill climbs, rondeneering events and weekend cross-county jaunts. The club does not restrict its membership to owners of four wheel drives, but encourages all enthusiasts to join .   The objectives of the Club are       * To further interest in Four Wheel drive vehicles     * To provide members with information, advice and assistance on matters connected with 4x4 vehicles and equipment     * To promote and educate the public in the use of four wheel drive vehicles and equipment     * To arrange tours, lectures, trials and social events     * To afford members such benefits and priviliges as it may be possible to arrange     * The club will not destroy or harm the environment in any way     * To promote an awareness of the environment  

Established in 1950, Twine & Cordage is the largest producer of twines in Zimbabwe including cotton, jute, sisal and polypropylene. The product range includes crochet yarn, bag stitching twine, candlewick, braided ropes and baling twine.   The factory situated in Harare, Zimbabwe, which employs 200 people, has invested heavily in machinery and is one of the most modern of its type in the region. New spinning equipment recently installed will ensure self sufficiency in cotton yarn requirements for years to come.   Twine & Cordage products are exported to Southern & East Africa, Canada, Europe and the Far East. The company's strong manufacturing base and versatility has allowed it to adapt and expand constantly into wide markets with new and existing products.   Securopac, established as a division of Twine & Cordage in 1992, manufactures polypropylene strapping under licence to Signode Corporations of USA. It offers a complete range of associated machines and tools with after sales services and repair facility. This division also markets steel strapping and pallet stretch wrap.   Crochet / Knitting Yarn  A high quality cotton yarn brand named Shinda. This crochet yarn is packed in a variety of sizes either on cones or balls according to your specifications. Shinda is used in Garment Manufacture and Crochet work and is available in an extensive range of colours we are able to match to your colour requirements in our modern state of the art dye house laboratory.   YARNS   Tobacco Twine High quality cotton Tobacco twines, which are extensively used in Tobacco producing countries internationally. An extremely versatile twine available in a variety of tensile strengths suitable for different usages. All Tobacco twines may be polished or unpolished, cabled or doubled and can be used for hanging, tying and bale stitching.   Industrial Twine  Available in cotton, polycotton, staple fibre polyester or high tenacity multifilament polyester on packages from 200g upwards.Industrial Twines are manufactured for bag sewing, hosepipe reinforcing, general packaging and tying.   Household Twine  Commonly known as string or shop twine, polished or unpolished. Available in a variety of sizes. The range includes twines for stationery, upholstery, piping cord, button cord, handicraft, household, confectionery, government and general industries. Packed in balls or spools in a variety of sizes from 100g upwards.   Jute Twine  Jute twine has and still is traditionally being used for hessian bag repairs, sewing and tying. Polished Jute Twine is still used by Post Offices worldwide. Jute garden twines, preferred by Agriculturists and Horticulturists, are available in green or natural. All jute twines are packaged according to customer requirements.   Sisal Twine  Sisal Baler, treated/non-treated, packed in 9kg spools. Sisal Binder is also supplied used as packaging twine and tarred for thatching.   BRAIDS AND ROPES Cotton  Packed in hanks of various lengths and diameters. Useful for camping, household, sash cord, Venetian blinds, lacing, washing line, caravanning and general industries. Solid Braids are also available with an optional polypropylene core for added strength and durability.   Polyester  Made from high tenacity multifilament polyester. Packed into either hanks or spools according to size. Useful in truckload securing (lashing), cargo netting tie downs, tents, tree felling, outdoor living, boating and general household use.   Polypropylene twines Polypropylene twines are UV Stablilised making them more durable outdoors. Medical Air Rescue Service (M.A.R.S) is a subsidiary of Strategis Group of Companies. It has been in operation since 1991. It runs seven bases in Zimbabwe in Harare, Bulawayo, Kwekwe, Gweru, Victoria Falls, Mutare and Masvingo. With a fleet of over 26 road ambulances, a dedicated  air ambulance, a Jetstream 31, stationed at Harare International Airport and access to 3 other planes, M.A.R.S.is ideally positioned to service the Southern and Central African region.   The company employs over 200 highly qualified professionals including specially trained doctors, nurses, paramedics and dispatchers.   M.A.R.S  has successfully carried out around 300 000 road emergency rescues within Zimbabwe and 3500 air evacuations since 1991, from such diverse sources as Dar-es-Salaam (Tanzania), Luena and Luanda (Angola), Kinshasa and Lubumbashi (D.R.C.), Lusaka and Likulu (Zambia) and Antananarivo (Madagasca) among many other sources.   In addition, the company also runs a training school in Zimbabwe, which is accredited to the Southern Africa Resuscitation Council. The school offers Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) , Accident and Emergency Care, Paramedic and Trauma Management training.     Unrefuelled direct flight to Johannesburg is possible from most ports of entry / exit 4 degrees North of the equator. The geographical proximity of Harare to these destinations counters, to a large extent, the flight time difference between the Jetstream 31 and the aircrafts based in South Africa.   MARS is also capable of evacuating patients to Europe in conjunction with partners in the region or in North Africa.    We have also accompanied patients on commercial flights to Europe and have gone as far as China and the USA.    MEDICAL CAPABILITIES The dedicated Jetstream 31 aircraft is configured in a 2-stretcher layout (full intensive care support for each) and has a normal crew complement of 2 pilots, a medical doctor and an intensive care nurse. Additionally, a combination of 1 extra crew and / or accompanying relatives can be carried, airstrip conditions permitting.    On- board, state-of-the-art equipment, all removable for patient accompaniment to / from airstrip, is of a full Intensive Care Unit standard, and includes a comprehensive, up to date drug range, airway and trauma management, advanced cardiac life support, oxygen administration, suction and neonatal incubator equipment.   COMMUNICATION The aircraft is equipped with sophisticated VHF, HF radio communication equipment and satellite phone, enabling it to maintain contact with our control centers at all times during air evacuation. Direct contact with patient's location and destination is also possible using any of these means.    ACCESS TO OTHER AIRCRAFT As backup, MARS has access to other aircraft, as follows:   2 BE20 King Air aircraft all pressurized a Cessna 421, also pressurized a Mitsubishi MU12 MARS, with its own dedicated air ambulance, which is comprehensively equipped, and dedicated backup with a full crew on 24-hour standby has the capacity to respond quickly. This, combined with its geographical location, makes it the most readily available means of evacuation from any point between the Limpopo and the Equator.    USUAL PATIENT DESTINATIONS Depending on membership, internationally insured patients are normally evacuated to Johannesburg, specifically to Milpark Clinic, Sandton , Sunninghill,  Garden City, and Morningside  Hospitals.    Patients insured locally are brought to Zimbabwe, specifically to Avenues Clinic, Parirenyatwa Hospital, St Anne's , West End  and South Medical Hospitals in Harare or Mater Dei Hospital in Bulawayo.
