Scandia Wire Products manufactures hexagonal wire netting, diamond mesh, wire garment hangers, mild steel galvanised wire and allied wire products. Scandia was established by the O' Sullivan family in Bulawayo in 1959, initially to manufacture barbed wire but the emphasis soon changed to hexagonal wire netting, which remains the company's core business.The company standardised on German netting equipment with much of the ancillary equipment being designed and manufactured by the O' Sullivan family a tribute to their resourcefulness and skill.In 1992 Scandia installed its own wire drawing and galvanising facilities and as a result is able to meet the netting factory's entire requirements. Scandia continues to be the market leader on the local market and is able to compete effectively in regional export markets to the extent that 60% of factory throughput is exported.Scandia gained ISO 9002 certification in 1997.Scandia has added a number of products to its existing range, notably. Suppliers, wholesalers of Building Glass, Hardware & Building Materials,  Hakimi Glass Mart was founded in 1957 in Mombasa's old town. In 1990, the company shifted its business to Nakuru, where it has grown from strength to strength; it was incorporated as Hakimi Glaziers Limited in 1999 to better face the challenges of the changing commercial environment. The company deals mainly in auto windscreen, glass and mirrors. It is a major stockiest for Impala brand and imported windscreens. Glass and mirror are imported from India and China.

Abyssinia Cements PLC is a cement manufacturing company producing Ordinary Portland Cement in Ethiopia. Our factory is located in Chancho, Oromia Region. Our cement has a minimum compressive strength of 43MPa. The quality of the Cement is approved by the Quality and Standards Authority of Ethiopia. We supply in 50 kg bags. Our brand is TENKARA CEMENT. Abyssinia Cement Plc, which specializes in producing OPC, was established on 70hct of land in Chancho Woreda of North Shoa Zone with an outlay of over 60 million Br in October 2007.  The factory has the capacity to produce 45,000 tonnes of cement annually.        Laboratory results from sample examinations of Abyssinia's products have shown that they are up to standard. Destined to become the first fully privately owned cement plant in the country to start production, the factory's products have been well received.   Established with an investment outlay of 100 million birr, the factory currently produces 300 tonnes of cement a day, with an expansion plan set to double that amount. In less than two years' time, the company will increase its production to 2000 tonnes a day.   The factory, built on eight hectares of land the company secured in Chantcho, a small town some 40 km north of Addis Ababa. The company has already embarked upon an expansion project worth 80 million birr for the cement production line on the same plot of land it secured on a land-lease bases.   The company, which sells its products under the trade mark "Tenkara Siminto"- meaning "strong cement" in Amharic - also secured an accreditation letter from the Quality and Standard Authority of Ethiopia, which certified that the product conforms to Ethiopia's standard.   Abyssinia's currently operational cement plant and the other one under erection will each have a maximum production capacity of 2,000 tonnes per day.   Abyssinia Cement has currently created job opportunities for 500 people.

Building Glass, Hardware & Building Materials Amatullah Glass & Hardware Ltd. was conceived in 2001 as a complement to HGL to serve the burgeoning glass and hardware demand in Nakuru and its environs. It deals mainly in retail and wholesale of mabati, nails, cement, glass, and paints. It holds agencies for mabati products of Corrugated Sheets Ltd and Mabati Rolling Mills Ltd and cement from Athi River Mining Ltd. Imported lines are hardware and glass from India and China. The company is also a distributor for Ngombe wire from Kaydee Wire Products Ltd, a sole distributor Maroo Paints. Business has enjoyed a steady growth since inception, placing the company in the top five in a market segment dominated by more than ten leading players.
