We are exporters in Ethiopia of textile fabrics, yarns, threads, sewing supplies, readymade clothes and also produce out own readymade clothes, bags and clothing. The demand for textiles and readymade clothes in Ethiopia has been rising and we have been meeting this rising demand by producing some of the best clothes in Ethiopia. At  7 Km from the center of the Adwa town on the main road to Axum and around 1,000kms  from Addis Abeba the capital city of Ethiopia, Almeda Textile Plc is standing proudly in the middle of beautiful Mountains area. Alongside the above machineries there e are also direct warping section warping & sizing machines which are capable feeding the looms. The product types that can be produced in the department are; 1. Different types of plan fabric (sheeting, Shrting, Rib stop &canvas) 2. Different types of will (light to heavy twill & French twill) 3. Terry towel. Garments Garment department is currently producing different types of wearing apparels for the local & international market. The company has very flexible &brand new state-of-the art technology in its design & pattern making, make up, finishing, Embellishment & quality control units. Currently, the factory has a total of 1543 sewing machines, about 95%age of them juki type of different varieties. The cutting unit with full size cutting table is strengthened by the design & pattern making unit, equipped with computer Aided design (CAD). The factory has also single ten head & one 4 head embroidery machine, a wishing facility and printing. The finishing unit has 118m/cs electrical & steam ironing equipment, and packing and other finishing devices. We sell cotton rugs from Zimbabwe which are of good value and they are machine washable. After purchasing cotton rugs in Zimbabwe a few years earlier and seeing the good value and the fact that they were machine washable we decided that there was an opening for good quality cotton rugs in South Africa.Amelia Jackson Industries was conceived in 1989, by Alan and Val Glasser, a Mother and Son enterprise. In the early years because we were small and had very few contacts in the textile industry, we struggled to locate the specific yarns and cotton supplies we were looking for, however as our production increased these difficulties eased.It wasn't long before we purchased our third and forth looms as sales continued to increase. We were now selling at most of the top Craft Markets in and around Cape Town, directly to the public and we were a regular feature at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront market. At this Waterfront market we came into contact with people from all over South Africa and International tourists who bought many of our rugs and showed a very keen interest in our products.A few years down the line in 1994 we decided to go the route of supplying shops and chain stores on a wholesale basis. We found that we no longer had the time or the capacity to supply the markets and as a result we pulled off them.As a result we have seen a steady increase in our customer base as well as our sales over the years We moved out of the house environment into our first business premises when we were bursting at the seams and moved into premises that seemed enormous at the time but soon the landlord had to add on a large extension to accommodate further looms.

It was established in 1959 under the name of Ferguson Shiers manufacturing carpeting in a factory set at the foothills of Nyakamete Mountains in Mutare, 270kms east of the capital Harare. N&B Crocodile Farm breeds crocodiles for skins and meat for export.The farm consists of 45 breeders being 5 male and 40 female all over 15 years old. These are kept in a large fenced breeding dam with strategically placed sandpits for egg laying.Nearing September when laying takes place these sandpits are moistened daily, raked each evening and monitored for any signs of digging. If there is any disturbance in the sand, the area is checked for eggs.When eggs are found they are placed in kaylite boxes in vermiculite and the boxes are packed into the incubator, which is kept at 34 degrees. An average of 35 eggs per female are laid with approximately 1400 eggs being collected. Some will be infertile and others rejected for various reasons.Each box is clearly labelled with the date of lay and the period of incubation is roughly 90 days. About 3 days before the due period, which is in December, the boxes are monitored for hatching. The crocodiles make a chirping sound when hatching and are then removed from the incubator boxes and placed on dry sand for 24 hours. They are then moved to hatchling pens in enclosed tunnels where the water is warmed during the winter months to promote growth. The hatchlings are fed on minced meat and liver and, together with the breeders and growers, consume approximately 700 kilograms of meat per week. At one year old the crocodile growers are transferred to open concrete pens where they grow out to approximately 1.5 metres in 2 years before being slaughtered for their belly skins and meat for export.Our annual slaughter is approximately 900 animals done during April, May and June each year. Diseases such as brown spot are more prevalent during the summer months, Sept to March. Our Manager, Felix Makaza, and his staff of ten run the farm.N&B Sugar EstatesThe N&B Sugar Estate has a quota to produce 10,500 tonnes of sugar cane and a water allocation of 1 3/4 cusecs.The farm employs 60 people who are housed, with their families, on the farm in two bedroom brick under iron houses. The staff have their own beerhall and entertainment area and a clinic.
