Mechanical Lloyd Company Limited, a leading Motor Company in Ghana, holds the franchises for BMW, Massey Ferguson and Ford. The company was originally called Technical Lloyd, a Dutch-owned Company, operating in Ghana in the 1960s and dealing in Knapsack sprayers, BMW cars and motor cycles. The Company was purchased by Mr. R.A. Darko, a Ghanaian entrepreneur, in 1970, renamed Mechanical Lloyd and incorporated as such. In 1977, his eldest son, T.R. Darko, succeeded him as the Chief Executive Officer of the company. He undertook a complete restructuring of the Company, strengthening its top management and mobilising financial resources for the realisation of its full potential. In 1998 the Company upgraded its facilities in Accra by constructing, modernising and equipping its Workshop Facilities and Spare Parts Warehouse to a standard that the Company's principals described as comparable to most in Europe and certainly the best in Africa, including South Africa. We are the importers for the tyre & batteries and have been operating from Nairobi, Kenya servicing the needs for tyres and batteries in East Africa. We stock all major brands from the international market as well as Chinese brands. We keep a large stock of al types of tyres for passenger cars, buses, trucks, trailers, off-the-road (OTR), industrial and agricultural tyres in our warehouse so that we can meet the demand of our customers in East Africa.   We are one of the leading importers of batteries in East Africa and import all major brands from all across the world. We distribute batteries to wholesalers, retailers and end users in Nairobi and Kenya. We also export our batteries and tyres to nearby countries in East Africa like Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Sudan.

We have a full range of Generators from 6 KVA to 2000 KVA. We have supplied more than 4000 Generators to various customers in Kenya over the past few years.    RYCE TYRE DIVISION  We are the exclusive dealers for the YANA BRAND of Tyres and Tubes for the Coast Region. Our clients are MAJOR TRANSPORTERS, CORPORATES etc    YANSAM MOTORS LTD  Yansam Motors Ltd is a fully owned subsidiary of Ryce East Africa Ltd. Sole distributor for ITMCO Brand of Tractors (manufactured under license and technical collaboration of MASSEY FERGUSON UK). ITMCO Tractors have been tested and certified suitable for Kenya by Ministry of Agriculture.    We have sold a number of tractors to various farmers, transporters and local authorities. We are also authorized dealers for TATA range of commercial vehicles for the Coast region.    Due to the market demand we have ventured into importing of EX-UK MERCEDES AXOR/ACTROS PRIME MOVERS.    Our PRIME MOVERS are carefully selected with low mileage and are available at a very competitive prices.    AFTER SALES SERVICE  We have a fully equipped service and repair facility managed by qualified engineers and trained technicians.
