Our facilities and resources are able to provide any safari experience. With 10 safari cars, 3 supply vehicles, plus both 5 and 7 seater luxury Landcruisers with pop up roofing, we are a medium sized safari company but growing rapidly and sustainably. We also have access to charter planes as needed. We have further access to excellent freelance guides and vehicles if size of group or bookings require, but where possible we prefer to stick with using our own 16 employees who are exceptionally organised and educated, all our own team have been with us for at least 2 years, most are nearing 5 and some even more. Our guides are incredibly loyal and staff turnover is very minimal. YOUR TOUR GUIDES Who will be your guide? Our guides range in age and experience. We have younger Abrojaley guides who offer so much energy and passion, plus fun factor for families or Gen X & Y and then we have more mature and experienced guides who've been in the industry for around 10 years and are therefore best suited to a particular clientele. Making sure the right guide is with the right people is one of our key achievements. Guides & languages Our guides all speak fluent english and swahili and many other languages. Again it's worth mentioning that our network is huge so if there is a language translation you require on safari just let us know and we'll make sure we supply someone more than suitable. Guide training Every year our guides undergo renewal and additional training to ensure they are the best at what they do. We have established 4 well-appointed safari camps in the East-African traditional style using solid mahogany furnishings, all ethically harvested and finished. We have employed a full complement of well-trained staff in each of the camps, our main office based in Arusha as well as our administration head office in Dar es Salaam. We have committed to provide first rate gear in the form of vehicle ans communication equipment. We have also contracted the services of committed, ethical professional hunters. We are aware that as a relatively new entrant into the market of offering big game safaris, we have to gain the confidence of a very selective audience. Before the formation of the organisation, we knew where our passion lay, in designing and delivering experiences that are perfectly fitted to a diversity guest interests. We then set out to work in the areas that our future safaris would venture in order to get an in-depth understanding of the wildlife dynamics that these areas offer, the camps and lodges in the areas and what they offer, how best to access these remote locations and most importantly the prime time and what the areas offer at the different times of the year. This saw us working in the major national parks in Zimbabwe, Zambia and in the Okavango and Linyanti areas of Botswana and visiting Namibia on numerous occasions. In that time we sat under a fig tree with a whole pride of lions in the Busanga Plains, pioneered canoeing safaris in Botswana, observed real-time interactions of epic proportions at Chitake Springs, quad biked the Makgadikgadi Pans, observed incredible concentrations of wildlife on an October day in South Luangwa and photographed desert adapted elephants in the Skeleton Coast. Then it was time to get to work. To design special experiences in areas of unspoilt wilderness which we know intimately. The national parks of Zimbabwe provided the perfect blend of sceneries, wildlife concentrations and less frequented safari destinations. Activities are excitingly diverse with canoeing, walking, game drives, boating, platform sleep outs and trekking adventures to mention but a few. This as you may probably imagine took a lot longer than planned as this journey is an adventure on its own. Since the inception of Tailormade Safaris in 2008 we have shared unimaginable experiences with guests from Europe, Australia, the Americas and the Southern African region. Most of our guests have over the last few years fallen in love with the way we deliver the African experience and become repeat guests who continue to return for these unscripted adventures. Today we can happily say, over the last few years we have gained invaluable experience in doing what we set out to do, create and deliver once in a lifetime experiences. We have built a team of professionals that are good at what they do and have come to understand where we want to be and the experiences that we would like to offer our safari guests.
